Palladium-catalyzed carbonylative coupling of 2-aminophenylacetylenes 1 and aryl iodies 2 in dialkylamines under a carbon monoxide atmosphere (10 kg/cm2) at 70 °C gave 2-aryl-4-dialkylaminoquinolines 3 in high yields.
