A mild and regioselective photocatalytic procedure for synthesis of 6-cyano-1,2,3,6-tetrahydropyridines from 1,2,3,6-tetrahydropyridines (9 examples) using cyanotrimethylsilane as cyanating agent in the presence of 9,10-dicyanoanthracene (DCA) as electron acceptor has been developed.
