Perfluoroalkyl iodides CnF2n+1CF2I (3 < n < 7) were converted to perfluoroalkanecarboxylic acids CnF2n+1CF2CO2H in 91% yield, by reaction with zinc-copper couple in the presence of solid carbon dioxide in trimethyl phosphate as the solvent.
