The manganese (III)-initiated oxidative radical annulation of dialkyl allylmalonates with olefins giving 4-substituted dialkyl 3-methylene/vinyl-1, 1-cyclopentanedicarboxylates or 5-substituted dimethyl 3-methylene-1, 1-cyclohexanedicarboxylates is described.
