New 2- and 1,2-substituted vinylgermyl acylates, alkoxides, and halides are formed regioselectively in high yields from alkynes or allenes and free singlet dimethylgermylene in the presence of the protic reagents carboxylic acids, alcohols, or hydrohalic acids.
