α-Selenobenzyllithiums react efficiently with ethylene and functionalized ethylenes containing phenyl, vinyl, trimethylsilyl or thio moieties. The reaction proceeds smoothly and leads to arylcyclopropanes in good yield and with high stereochemical control.
