Poly-4-vinylpyridinium poly(hydrogen fluoride), PVPHF, a solid polymeric poly(hydrogen fluoride), was prepared and used as a fluorinating agent for hydrofluorination and bromofluorination of alkenes and alkynes and for the fluorination of alcohols.The advantages of this method are easy handling and extremely convenient work-up.
