Boron tris(pentafluoroethanesulfonate) [pentflate) has been prepared from boron trihalides and pentflic acid and characterized including its ¹¹B-, ¹³C- and ¹⁹F-NMR spectra. Conjugate Brønsted-Lewis superacids of boron tris(pentflate) were also prepared with both, triflic and pentflic acid and were similarly characterized.
