Oxocarbons and Related Compounds; Part 10. Pseudooxocarbon-Betaines of the C4-Series with a Cyanamino Group or a Sulfonylamino Group by Three-Component-Reaction Reaction of squaric dichloride (7) with pyridine and cyanamide or a sulfonamide leads to the cyanamino-pyridinium-betaine 10a and the sulfonylaminopyridinium-betaines 10c-f, respectively. In the same way squaric dichloride (7) reacts with triphenylphosphine and cyanamide to give the cyanaminotriphenylphosphonium-betaine 10b.
