Postoperative Organized Chylothorax Treated by EUS-FNA: A Case Report
Chylothorax is infrequent complication after lung surgery specially in case of radical mediastinal lymph nodes dissection. Diagnosis involves cholesterol and triglyceride measurement in the pleural fluid. First option to treat this complication is conservative therapy that is characterized by changing diet to include fewer long-chain fatty acids, free fatty acids. However, this can lead to fat deficiency and malnutrition over time. If conservative therapy fails is indicated to perform surgery. We present a case of postoperative organized chylothorax treated with Endoscopic Ultrasound Fine-needle Aspiration (EUS-FNA).
