The divergent synthesis of some novel aminocyclopentitol analogues was concisely achieved
from readily available d-galactose via the highly diastereoselective amination of carbocyclic polybenzyl ether
using chlorosulfonyl isocyanate, diastereoselective dihydroxylation, and epoxidation
as the key steps.
