Significance

Chiral substituted pyrrolidines are useful building blocks of biologically active compounds. The report describes their synthesis by a highly enantioselective and exo-selective [3+2] cycloaddition catalyzed by a chiral silver complex. This method is highly versatile, tolerating a wide variety of imines and olefins.
