Significance

Chiral dienes have been extensively used as highly efficient ligands in asymmetric reactions catalyzed by transition metals. In this paper the authors expand the structural diversity of this family by introduction of chiral dicyclopentadiene ligands. A range of N-tosylarylimines underwent Rh/2-catalyzed arylation with arylboronic acids. Compared to the previously reported diene ligands, the products were obtained with higher yields (98-99%) and slightly lower enantioselectivities (90-96% ee).
