Significance
Englerins A and B are guaiane sesquiterpenes that inhibit renal cancer cell growth with nanomolar potency. Enantioselective routes by Echavarren and Ma using a key gold-mediated cyclization (see: Synfacts 2010, 972; Synfacts 2010, 973) were recently published.
