Zusammenfassung

Eine 24jährige Frau, die an chronischer Bronchitis litt, starb etwa 30 Minuten nach Injektion von Tetanus-Toxoid (Tetanol®). Frühere Tetanol-Immunisierung hatte sie offenbar gut vertragen, während ihre Schwester mit Gesichtsschwellungen reagiert hatte. Pathologischanatomisch wurden ein Emphysem der Lungen mit bronchialer Hypersekretion und eine peribronchiale Infiltration mit eosinophilen Granulozyten festgestellt. Unter Berücksichtigung konstitutioneller und situativer Bedingungen wird der akut eingetretene tödliche Kreislaufzusammenbruch auf eine anaphylaktische Reaktion nach Tetanol-Injektion zurückgeführt.

Summary

A 24-year-old woman with chronic bronchitis died about 30 minutes after injection of tetanus toxoid. Previous tetanus toxoid immunizations had been well tolerated, while the patient's sister had had swellings of the face afterwards. Post-mortem examination revealed emphysema of the lungs with bronchial hypersecretion and peribronchial infiltration with eosinophilic granulocytes. Taking into account constitutional and external factors, the fatal circulatory collapse might be explained by an anaphylactic reaction after the toxoid injection.
