Significance

Corilagin was isolated from the tree Caesalpina coriaria and exhibits a range of biological activities such as the potentiation of β-lactam antibiotics against MRSA and antihypertensive ­effects. This paper reports the first synthesis of a ¹C4/B-ellagitannins.
