The benzylic acetate or hydroxy group of (η6-arene)-tricarbonylchromium complexes gave exo-substituted chromium complexes via Cr(CO)3-stabilized carbocations by the reaction with allyltrimethylsilane or propargyltrimethylsilane in the presence of Lewis acid.
