Three New Flavone Glycosides from Vitex negundo

Abstract

3,6,7,3',4'-Pentamethoxy-5-O-glucopyranosyl-rhamnoside (I), vitexin caffeate (II), 4'-O-methyl myricetin-3-O-[4"-O-β-D-galactosyl]-β-D-galactopyranoside (III) were isolated from the stem bark of Vitex negundo. effect [13]. Several uses for the plant were recorded in Indian medicine [14]. We isolated 6,8 dimethyl ether of delphinidin and 3', 4' dimethyl ether of leucocyanidin-7-O-rhamnoglucoside from the plant [15]. We report in this communication the isolation and identification of three new flavone glycosides.
