Abstract

From the aerial parts of Gentiana gelida two new strongly bitter acylsecoiridoid glucosides, gelidoside (1) and gentomoside (2), have been isolated along with five known secoiridoid glucosides, trifloroside (3), gentiopicroside (4), swertiamarin (5), eustomoside (6), and eustomorusside (7). The structures of the compounds were elucidated by a combination of spectroscopic methods (UV, IR, 1H-NMR, 2D-NMR, EI- and FAB-MS).
