Zusammenfassung

Unter Erwachsenen sind angeborene Fehlbildungen des Gehirns nicht selten die Ursache einer Epilepsie. Dieser Sachverhalt ist unterschätzt, die betreffenden Läsionen noch zu wenig bekannt. Dieser Artikel stellt wesentliche Gehirnfehlbildungen als Epilepsieursache vor, vor allem noduläre Heterotopien, Bandheterotopien, Polymikrogyrie, tuberöse Sklerose und fokale kortikale Dysplasie. Aspekte der Diagnostik, Beratung und Therapie werden erläutert.

Summary

A congenital malformation of cerebral development (MCD) not rarely is the epileptogenic lesion in epilepsy, even among adult patients: this is an underestimated fact, the various types of MCD being not well-known enough to many adult neurologists. This manuscript presents and illustrates selected MCD encountered in adult epilepsy care, i.e nodular heterotopia, band heterotopia, polymicrogyria, tuberous sclerosis and focal cortical dysplasia. Diagnostic, therapeutic and counselling aspects are summarized
