Summary

  1. Of 15 African plants studied at least nine could be considered to contain alkaloids.

  2. None of the extracts screened had any antimalarial activity.

  3. Three of the plants were active against KB cell culture and a few exhibited a slight activity against a variety of animal cancers.

Zusammenfassung

Extrakte 15 verschiedener Pflanzenarten aus Ghana, Liberia und Nigeria wurden auf das Vorhandensein von Alkaloiden untersucht. In zahlreichen Fällen wurden die Extrakte auf ihre pharmakologische Aktivität getestet.
