Summary

The unripe fruits of Solarium cyananthum were found to contain one steroidal alkaloid, identified as solasodine. The neutral glycoside fraction, afforded after hydrolysis a steroid sapogenin; chlorogenin. B–sitosterol was isolated from the unsaponifiable matter of the lipid fraction.
