Abstract

Euphorbia peplus L. was phytochemically studied. From the light petroleum extract, a crystalline substance C22H34O2, m.p. 78–79° C (0.5 %), β-sitosterol (0.1 %) and an unidentified sterol C30H50O, m.p. 204–205° C (0.005 %) were isolated. From the ethereal extract a crystalline unidentified triterpenoid C30H50O5, m.p. 280–281° C (0.05 %) was isolated. From the alcoholic extract, quercetin (0.16 %), hyperoside (0.23 %) and kaempeferol monosaccharide (0.36 %) were isolated.
