Abstract

Euphorbia paralias L. was phytochemically studied. From the light petroleum extract, a crystalline aliphatic alcohol C22H34O2, m.p. 78–79° C (0.33 %), β-amyrin (0.23 %) and β-sitosterol (0.2 %) were isolated. From the ethereal extract ursolic acid (0.12 %), oleanolic acid (0.05 %), uvaol (0.01 %), betulin (0.03 %) and unidentified triterpene alcohol C30H50O5, m.p. 280–281° C (0.04 %) were isolated. From the alcoholic extract quercetin (0.1 %), hyperoside (0.12 %) and kaempferol 3–BD–glucoside (0.04 %) were isolated.
