Significance

Several privileged P,N-ligands for
Ir-catalyzed asymmetric hydrogenation have been reported. Less electron-rich phosphite ligands have shown potential for use in asymmetric reactions using rhodium and iridium. This work uses this information to design a simple phosphite ligand which demonstrated high activity and enantioselectivity of a broad range of alkenes.
