Peroxydase, ein Marker des Extrazellulärraumes, dringt aus der Choriokapillaris am Basalpol in die Zellen des retinalen Pigmentepithels via „Coated Vesicles” Beim Vergleich mit Kontrollpräparationen fällt auf, dass nur ein Teil der cytoplasmatischen „Coated Vesicles” markiert sind. Letztere fusionieren manchmal miteinander, manchmal mit dem endoplasmatischen Reticulum (SER).

Summary

Intracardially injected horseradish Peroxydase was endocytosed by coated vesicles at the base of the RPE. The fate of these labelled vesicles was observed; they were seen to fuse either together or with cisternae of the smooth endoplasmic reticulum in the basal one-third of the RPE. Peroxydase-negative vesicles, suggesting a double population, were also observed.
