Significance

Iejimalide B is a marine microbial metabolite with growth inhibitory activity against a wide range of human tumours. The asymmetric synthesis of alkyne fragments E and I via the Carreira alkynylation and the Marshall propargylation respectively are highlights of the synthesis.
