Significance
In the present paper, the authors report on the selective synthesis of organophosphorous compounds. The reaction proved to be quite general as alkyl- and aryl-substituted terminal and internal alkynes are efficiently transformed into syn-hydrophosphinated products. Functionalities such as alcohols and esters are tolerated under the reaction conditions. Moreover, the effectiveness of this methodology was further demonstrated by efficiently transforming activated alkenes into β-phosphinopropionic acid derivatives.
