Significance

(+)-Lycopladine A is a Pawettimine alkaloid, isolated from Lycopodium complantum, which shows modest cytotoxic activity. The novel pyridyl-fused hydrindanone core is constructed via a diastereoselective gold(I)-catalyzed 5-endo-dig cyclization.
