Nahrungsergänzungsmittel in der Onkologie

Zusammenfassung

Nahrungsergänzungsmittel sind kein Ersatz für eine ausgewogene Ernährung oder eine tumorreduktive Therapie. Sie können aber den Ablauf vieler wichtiger biochemischer Stoffwechselwege sicherstellen. Damit werden sie zu einer wertvollen Ergänzung einer komplementären Tumortherapie. Im Beitrag werden Mikronährstoffdefizite und Selenmangel, die Unterstützung des darmassoziierten Immunsystems und Möglichkeiten zur Lektinblockade besprochen.

Abstract

Dietary supplements are not meant to replace a well-balanced nutrition, or a tumour-reductive therapy either. But they are able to ensure the function of important biochemical pathways. In this respect they are a valuable component of a complementary tumour therapy. Deficits of micronutrients and of selenium, the support of the gut-associated immune system and options for lectin blocking are discussed.
