Significance

The chiral catalyst Rh2[(S)-DOSP]4 is usually the best catalyst for reactions with donor/acceptor carbenoids. However, the new Rh2[(S)-PTAD]4 complex was shown to be an excellent back-up catalyst for cases where Rh2[(S)-DOSP]4 did not achieve satisfactory enantioselectivity.
