Abstract
There are numerous studies dealing with the relation of diabetes or antidiabetic therapy
to lung function. Considering the available data there is enough evidence to justify
the term ”diabetic pneumopathy”. Yet, it must be stressed that there is no uniform
kind of deterioration in lung function. Nevertheless a restrictive pattern of deterioration
in lung function appears to substantiate. This diabetes induced pulmonary complication
must be distinguished carefully from insulin treatment induced changes in lung function.
