Hypertonie im Alter - eine Beobachtungsstudie von Krankheitsverläufen

Zusammenfassung

Basierend auf einer im Jahre 2003 veröffentlichten Beobachtungsstudie, die den 4-Jahres-Krankheitsverlauf von 29 Patienten, die älter als 70 Jahre waren und deren Blutdruck schlecht eingestellt war, zum Thema hatte, wurde jetzt eine erneute Analyse der Krankheitsverläufe derselben Patienten durchgeführt. Wieder wurden die Patienten einer Vergleichsgruppe (matched pairs) mit gut eingestelltem Blutdruck gegenüber gestellt. In der Gruppe mit schlecht eingestelltem Blutdruck traten weniger kardiovaskuläre Komplikationen auf als in der Gruppe mit gut eingestelltem Blutdruck. Dabei kam es in der Gruppe mit schlecht eingestelltem Blutdruck insgesamt aber zu mehr Todesfällen.

Abstract

In 2003 a 4-year-longitudinal study about 29 patients older than 70 years and with badly controlled blood pressure was published. Complications and deaths were analysed and compared with matched - according to gender and age - patients. Now, in 2005, the next 3-years-follow-up was analysed. As in the first analysis the 7-years-follow-up showed that in the group with badly controlled blood pressure there were less cardiovascular complications than in the group with well controlled blood pressure. But there was a higher number of deaths in the group with badly controlled blood pressure.
