James C. Alex, M.D., F.A.C.S.

Since its introduction in the mid-1990s, the use of the endoscope for minimal access facial plastic and reconstructive surgical procedures has greatly extended the types of operations that traditionally could only be attempted through an open approach.

This issue is organized to highlight current advanced concepts in endoscopic cosmetic and reconstructive techniques. I wish to thank all of the authors for their scholarly contributions and their time and effort. In addition to underscoring the high level at which these endoscopic techniques are currently practiced, it is hoped this issue will encourage further creative advanced developments in this continually evolving field.
