Beratung und Hilfe für Menschen mit außergewöhnlichen Erfahrungen

Zusammenfassung

Zahlreiche Umfrageergebnisse haben gezeigt, dass außergewöhnliche Erfahrungen (im Folgenden AgE genannt) historisch wie transkulturell zum allgemein menschlichen Erfahrungsschatz gehören und in der Normalbevölkerung weit verbreitet sind [1] [2] [3]. Bei Menschen, die solche Erfahrungen gemacht haben, kann es zu behandlungsbedürftigen Irritationen und Verunsicherungen kommen, bei denen das medizinische und psychosoziale Versorgungssystem kaum kompetente Hilfen und Behandlungsmöglichkeiten bieten kann. Im Rahmen eines Forschungsprojektes wurden systematisch Daten erhoben, die ein genaueres Verständnis dieser Klientel, ihrer Anliegen und der von ihnen berichteten AgE ermöglichen. Sie zeigen zudem den spezifischen Versorgungsbedarf in diesem Bereich. Ausgehend von n = 858 Fällen, die zwischen 1996 und 2000 versorgt wurden, werden die soziodemografischen Charakteristika der Betroffenen, die von ihnen berichteten biopsychosozialen Belastungen und ihre psychische Auffälligkeit beschrieben. Ferner werden die mittels einer Faktorenanalyse ermittelten typischen Formenkreise von AgE vorgestellt, anhand derer mithilfe einer Clusteranalyse verschiedene Subgruppen von Klienten unterschieden werden.

Abstract

The results of numerous surveys show that Exceptional Experiences (EE) belong to a human body of knowledge which is historically as well as transculturally common. They are frequent within the normal population [1] [2] [3]. Although people with these experiences may develop irritations and alienations requiring treatment in consequence, the medical and psychosocial health care system hardly offers any competent help. In our study data were collected to better understand the clientele, their needs and the reported phenomena. In addition, data show the specific need for care in that area. Starting from N = 858 cases which were taken care of within the years of 1996 and 2000, sociodemographic data and mental health problems of this specific clientele are described. Moreover typical patterns of EE which were found by factor analysis are presented. Based on these patterns different EE-specific types of clients can be distinguished.
