Bulimia nervosa

Abstract

Die Bulimia nervosa ist deutlich im Zunehmen begriffen und zählt insbesondere in der Laienpresse zu den bekanntesten psychiatrischen Erkrankungen. Die höchsten Prävalenzen dieser Ess-Störung finden sich in den westlichen Industrienationen, die aufgrund ihres Nahrungsüberschusses und sinkender körperlicher Aktivität eine deutliche Zunahme des Übergewichts und der Adipositas zu verzeichnen haben. Von daher stellt sich die Frage, ob die Bulimia nervosa ein evolutionäres Pendant zur Adipositas darstellt. Bulimische Patienten stellen ätiologisch keine einheitliche Gruppe dar. Intra- und interpsychische Probleme fließen ebenso in die Genese der Bulimia nervosa ein wie gesellschaftlich-kulturelle, psychobiologische und genetische Aspekte. Die vorliegende Arbeit unternimmt den Versuch, orientiert an den einzelnen Psychotherapieschulen die ätiologischen Konzepte der Bulimia nervosa zu diskutieren und neben der Pharmakologie die jeweiligen psychotherapeutischen Konzepte darzustellen.
