Zusammenfassung

Das Beschleunigungstrauma der Halswirbelsäule nach Unfällen ist kontrovers diskutiert. Sind die oft chronischen Schmerzverläufe posttraumatisch allein biomedizinisch zu erklären oder spielen psychosoziale Faktoren eine dominante Rolle? Christoph Dehner und Michael Kramer geben einen Überblick zu Verletzungsmechanismen, Diagnostik und Therapieoptionen einer umstrittenen Verletzung.
