Neurografie ist mehr als die Nervenleitgeschwindigkeit

Zusammenfassung

Im deutschen Sprachgebrauch wird „Nervenleitgeschwindigkeitsuntersuchung“ oder überhaupt nur „das NLG“ häufig synonym verwendet für die Neurografie. Der Artikel ruft in Erinnerung, dass die berühmte NLG zwar eine wichtige Größe ist, aber bei weitem nicht die einzige, die es im Rahmen dieser Untersuchung zu beurteilen gilt. Für jede Messgröße der Neurografie wird die mögliche Aussagekraft sowie die Grenzen der Methodik beleuchtet und im Zusammenhang mit existierender Literatur besprochen.

Abstract

Nowadays the term ”nerve conduction velocity“ (NCV) is often used as a synonym for “neurography”. This article draws attention to the fact that the famous NCV is an important but surely not the only quantity that is evaluated with this examination. Each neurographic quantity is described with regard to its validity, also taking into account the limitations, and discussed in the light of available literature.
