Zusammenfassung
Im folgenden Artikel werden die Ergebnisse einer Masterthese [1] zusammengefasst,
welche die Kucher/Bantleon-Apparatur im Rahmen einer Untersuchung analysierte und
mit der Herbst Apparatur in der Lingualtechnik verglich. Beide Behandlungsmethoden
bewirken eine translatorische Anteriorbewegung des Frontzahnsegmentes, die Kucher/Bantleon-Apparatur
im Oberkiefer und die Herbst-Apparatur im Unterkiefer. Durch den biomechanisch günstigen
Kraftansatzpunkt wird das Risiko einer unkontrollierten Proklination vermieden und
es erfolgt eine Zahnbewegung mit gleichbleibendem Knochenangebot.
Abstract
The following article summarizes the findings of a master thesis [1] analyzing the
appliance of Kucher and Bantleon and comparing it with the Herbst appliance in combination
with lingual orthodontics. It concerns 2 different treatment options for a bodily
anterior movement of the incisors: The Kucher/Bantleon appliance for the upper jaw
and the Herbst appliance in combination with precisely customized lingual orthodontics
for the lower jaw. Due to the favorable direction of force application the anterior
teeth can protrude bodily within the limits of those treatment methods. The well-known
risk of labial flaring of the lower incisors when using class II mechanics can be
reduced. During the protrusion of upper incisors to correct a maxillary retrognathy
the same side effect of labial flaring may occur. With the Kucher/Bantleon appliance
the anterior tipping effect is replaced by bodily anterior movement with consistent
bone support.
