Background

Descemet membrane endothelial keratoplasty (DMEK) is gaining popularity due to its fast and near complete visual recovery not only as a primary treatment for endothelial dysfunction but also as secondary treatment option after complicated primary DMEK surgery. New applications described are DMEK after glaucoma surgery or in the presence of an anterior chamber/iris claw lens or glaucoma devices. We present our technique of a successful application of DMEK surgery in the presence of an artificial iris diaphragm.
