Zusammenfassung

Die periokuläre nekrotisierende Fasziitis ist ein sehr seltenes ophthalmologisches Krankheitsbild mit potenziell lebensbedrohenden Verlauf. Grundlage der Erkrankung ist eine bakterielle Infektion im Bereich der Faszien, die sich rasch ausbreitet. Dieser Beitrag legt beispielhaft den Verlauf der Erkrankung anhand eines Fallberichts dar und gibt einen Überblick über die typischen klinischen Zeichen und Symptome der periokulären nekrotisierenden Fasziitis.

Abstract

Peri-ocular necrotising fasciitis is a very rare ophthalmological clinical picture and is potentially fatal. This disease is caused by bacterial infection of the fasciae, which rapidly spreads. The present article reports a typical case of the disease and gives an overview of the typical clinical signs and symptoms of peri-ocular necrotising fasciitis.
