Intravenous Infusion of a Standardised Coagulation Active Phospholipid Complex in Uremic Coagulation Deficiency

Summary

Infusion for 90 min of 10 ml brain lipid extract brought thrombin generation and prothrombin consumption levels in uremic patients to normal for 3 h. After quick injection of the same doses (within 3 min) the effect lasted less than l¹/₂h. Control subjects produced hypercoagulability with the same treatment. The results of these clinical experiments, obtained with 12 subjects, were shown by analysis of variance to be statistically significant.
