This paper describes an automated procedure for the identification and subsequent transformation of nominal forms into the corresponding adjectival forms, participles into nominal forms, and a method for adjectivization of certain Greek and Latin phrases in medical language. The paper is an extension of our previous report which dealt with transforms of adjectives into nouns and nouns plural into nouns singular in medical English. It is a part of the information retrieval system for processing of pathology data which was developed at the Division of Computer Research and Technology, National Institutes of Health.

In dieser Arbeit wird ein automatisches Verfahren zur Identifikation und nachfolgenden Transformierung von nominalen Formen in die entsprechenden adjektivischen Formen, von Partizipien in nominale Formen und eine Methode zur Adjektivierung von bestimmten griechischen und lateinischen Ausdrücken in der medizinischen Sprache beschrieben. Die Arbeit stellt eine Erweiterung eines früheren Berichtes dar, der sich mit der Transformierung von Adjektiven in Substantive und von Pluralen von Substantiven in Singulare von Substantiven in medizinischem Englisch befaßte. Es ist Teil eines Information-Retrieval-Systems zur Verarbeitung pathologischer Daten, welches von der Division of Computer Research and Technology, National Institutes of Health, entwickelt worden ist.
