Summary

Logistic regression can be used to investigate prognostic factors in the treatment of infertility by in vitro fertilization (IVF). It was observed that the probability of success is not constant over repeated attempts, but decreases according to a selection process. Another prognostic factor, the number of cells of the largest embryo, was also observed.

Logistische Regression kann angewandt werden, um prognostische Faktoren bei der Behandlung von Unfruchtbarkeit durch In-vitro-Befruchtung zu untersuchen. Es wurde beobachtet, daß die Erfolgswahrscheinlichkeit im Laufe wiederholter Versuche nicht konstant ist, sondern aufgrund eines Selektionsprozesses abnimmt. Ein weiterer prognostischer Faktor, nämlich die Anzahl der Zellen des größten Embryos, wurde festgestellt.
