Das vaginale Melanom

Zusammenfassung

In der Fachliteratur sind derzeit keine prospektiven Studien über vaginale Melanome publiziert worden. Es finden sich nur einzelne Fallberichte. Alle diese Artikel beschreiben die Seltenheit des Tumors, die hohe Aggressivität und die schlechte Prognose. Diese seltene Tumorentität wird interdisziplinär behandelt und wird in den meisten Fällen in fortgeschrittenen Stadien diagnostiziert. Die Therapie erfolgt multidisziplinär und beinhaltet die chirurgische Resektion, Radiatio und eventuell eine Chemotherapie. Wir berichten über eine 81-jährige Patientin mit einem primären vaginalen Melanom, die durch uns und urologische Universitätsklinik Aachen operativ versorgt wurde. Die Patientin zeigt auch ein Jahr nach der Operation eine komplette klinische Tumorfreiheit.

Summary

In contemporary literature, no descriptions of prospective studies are available regarding primary malignant melanoma of the vagina. Studies on this topic include only case reports. All these reports exhibit its rare nature and aggressive behaviour as well as its poor prognosis. This rare disease entity requires a multidisciplinary approach and its diagnosis is usually made in an advanced stage. The therapeutic strategy includes its surgical resection, radiation and chemotherapy. Herein we present a case of an 81 year old patient with a primary malignant melanoma of the vagina that was multidisciplinary treated from the urology departments of Gronau and Aachen. During one year follow-up, and after surgical resection of the tumour, the patient exhibited total remission.
