Zusammenfassung

Auf dem Gebiet der peripheren arteriellen Intervention gab es in den letzten zehn bis fünfzehn Jahren einen enormen Fortschritt bezüglich verfügbarer Kathetermaterialien und Techniken. Dies trifft im besonderen Maße auf die Behandlung der Arteria femoralis super-ficialis (AFS) zu, die einen erheblichen Anteil der peripheren arteriellen Intervention ausmacht. In diesem Artikel werden gängige Kathetertechniken und moderne verfügbare Kathetermaterialien dargestellt.

Summary

During the past ten to fifteen years enormous progress regarding catheter materials and techniques has been achieved. This is particular true for the treatment of the superficial femoral artery (SFA) which comprises a large proportion of peripheral interventions. This article summarizes modern techniques and latest developments in catheter materials used in the endovascular treatment of the SFA.
