Der Wissensstand in Pflegeeinrichtungen, aber auch bei Angehörigen muss weiterhin auf einen aktuellen Stand gebracht werden, um die Grundvoraussetzungen für eine gute Mundpflege zu schaffen. Auch das Verständnis für die Zusammenhänge zwischen oraler und Allgemeingesundheit muss verstärkt intensiviert werden. Die Pflege des Munds ist ein essenzieller und großer Bestandteil der Pflege von Patienten und dient dem Erhalt der Allgemeingesundheit.
