Zusammenfassung
Dem senilen Entropium liegt eine involutive Veränderung des Stützgewebes und der Muskelaufhängung
im Unterlid zugrunde. Dies resultiert in einer fehlerhaften Ausrichtung des Muskelzugs
des M. orbicularis oculi und resultiert in einer Trichiasis. Eine Behandlung mit Botulinumtoxin
ist möglich. Sie erzielt eine temporäre, im Mittel 3,8 Monate andauernde Erleichterung
der Beschwerden. Wiederholungen der Injektionen sind gut durchführbar. Die Botulinumtoxininjektion
bei spastischem Entropium ist als alternatives Verfahren bei nicht operativ zu sanierenden
Patienten zu erwägen.
Abstract
Involutive changes in the collagen and muscular structures of the lower lid in ageing
may lead to the formation of senile entropium. Treatment of this condition may be
achieved using botulinum toxin injections to the dislocated orbicularis muscle. These
injections lead to cessation of the symptoms for a mean of 3.8 months. Repeat injections
are possible. Botulinum toxin injections are a viable option for patients who are
not amenable to surgical correction of the entropium.
