ESGE guidelines

Under the leadership of Cesare Hassan, Italy, ESGE is dedicated to producing guidelines, also at times in cooperation with sister societies. In 2014, five guidelines appeared in Endoscopy and several working groups are preparing new guidelines and updating standing recommendations. The most recent working group meeting was held in Berlin, where experts convened to take forward the guideline on Non Variceal Upper GI Bleeding under the leadership of Professor Gralnek.

ESGE’s thanks goes to all guidelines authors who dedicate their time and expertise to this important contribution to all practising endoscopists. Below are listed a selection of the guidelines curently in progress and scheduled for publication in 2015 and 2016:

• EUS-FNA on Pulmonology and cancer staging

• Enteroscopy and small bowel capsule

• Post-cancer resection endoscopic surveillance

• Endoscopy in pediatric patients: indications for diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, sedation and equipment

• Techniques of imaging of the biliary and pancreatic ducts

• Endoscopic submucosal dissection
