Die Wiederherstellung der Funktion und der Ästhetik mit Zahnhartsubstanz schonenden Methoden dominiert heute die prothetischen Behandlungskonzepte. Univ.-Prof. Dr. Daniel Edelhoff, Universität München, bezog auf der Jahrestagung 2014 der Deutschen Gesellschaft für Prothetische Zahnmedizin und Biomateralien (DGPro) Stellung zur substanzschonenden Präparation im Rahmen der konservierenden Defekttherapie und der prothetischen Behandlung. Diesem Thema ist dieser Artikel gewidmet – und kündigt gleichzeitig die Ausweitung des Behandlungs-Kanons an: Auf dem 14. Keramiksymposium der AG Keramik gibt der Referent konkrete Empfehlungen zur „Ästhetischen und funktionellen Gesamtrehabilitation“.
